Here is the story and photos that I captured of J + B’s spooky surprise proposal at the charmingly beautiful Spirit of HalloweenTown in St. Helens Oregon!

How We Planned J + B’s Surprise Proposal

J reached out to me in hopes of finding a photographer in Oregon that could help him capture the once-in-a-lifetime moments of his surprise proposal to his girlfriend—B!

B adored spooky things, and J thought that the Giant Pumpkin at Spirit of HalloweenTown would be the absolute perfect spot to pop the question.🎃💍

J also booked his proposal session for October 1st (what an excellent way to kick off the fall season, huh?!)

My answer to J—obviously—was an astounding yes, yes, YES! I was so overcome with excitement.

So we hopped on a phone call to go over logistics and it was then time that we had to patiently wait…

Setting Up at Spirit of HalloweenTown

I arrived to St. Helens Spirit of HalloweenTown with about 1 hour to spare until *THE moment*

I always give myself a ton of time before surprise proposals to:

Make sure I’m in the correct location
Contact my client to touch base & make sure they know how to spot me (clothing-wise)
To take photos of *THE spot* and surrounding areas to dial-in my camera settings

Capturing the Magical Moment

After I set up I then got a text from J that said: “We are in the area and making our way over to the pumpkin.”

and that was my queue…

So I got into position, and once J dropped to his knee, I started shooting away—capturing the incredibly emotional and exciting moments that then started to unfold!📸

Engagement Photoshoot Time

After the initial shock of the proposal itself, I took J + B off to roam the Spirit of HalloweenTown property and take some beautiful engagement photos for the two of them to remember and cherish forever.🧡
